The low-slung profile of the home was preserved, and all of the windows and doors were replaced for better insulation and energy efficiency.

Bolden feels good about having blended the old and the new, too. “I could build a new trailer or a new house, but I love taking these beautiful old things that are still functional and having them be the vehicle for this type of interior work,” he says.

The floor is terrazzo-effect rubber flooring from Nora with an acoustic underlay. A cherry wood veneer bookcase for cookbooks has been inserted between the kitchen cabinets and a storage room for coats and shoes.
