Hudson Valley Airstream completed in "Roberta" in 2019, and it’s currently for sale. It’s a fully renovated, 29-foot Airstream Ambassador named for singer Roberta Flack, "because ‘Killing Me Softly’ was a hit in 1973, the same year this Airstream was made," says the studio.

In the kitchen, birch cabinets painted in a bright white are topped with solid ash countertops.

"Ryan likes navy, so we decided to copy that theme throughout and bring in some warm tones to complement the honey-colored wood countertops," Armstrong says. "I always love to tie in all of the colors in a space with an area rug. I found the perfect old-world-feel traditional rug with some great navy and gold tones to tie it all together."

The design team took down interior walls and replaced the floors with dark plank vinyl.

Perhaps the most sculptural bathroom in an Airstream that we’ve ever seen: a black Quartz bench, counter, and inlay sink meet a custom walnut vanity. The faucet is by Brizo.

"Rita" is a 1980s Excella with an interior scheme that draws on a Cambodian hotel beloved by the owners. Plush velvet cushions are arranged in front of an electric fireplace. The TV is concealed on a lift in the cabinet.

Shane Michael Pavonetti, an Austin-based architect and contractor, and his wife, Holly, built their eco-friendly home on a lean budget of $175,000. The cedar siding used on the exterior reappears throughout the house. Keen on recycling the wood, the couple added shelving to their kitchen as well.

Constructed on land he had owned for years, this tiny cabin is also totally green.

Inside, crisp white walls complement the refinished, wide-plank hardwoods lining the floors in the primary gathering spaces.

On the main level, Alessia relocated the kitchen into what was a large bedroom, so as to give the kitchen more functionality and connect it to the living room. The cooktops can pivot up against the backsplash to create more prep space on the counter.

A look at the moody office space, which is outfitted in handsome darker tones.

Although synthetic slate roof tiles have been around since the 1970s, the way architect Stephen Bruns used them to completely clad Woven House is unusual. "I love this material," says Bruns. "The way light reflects off the tiles creates a specular effect, almost like a mosaic." That reflective quality is enhanced by the floor-to-ceiling windows by Loewen.

An addition created much-needed height in the attic, for the couple to be able to install a full bedroom suite and office. The low-lying addition keeps in scale with the mass of the main house, so as not to overwhelm the neighbors or surrounding context. It also facilitated about 1000 more square feet of living space.

The TV nook includes an Ikea sofa, Article tables, and a vintage Eames rocker. The wall-mounted planters are from Ferm Living.

A skylight fills the room with natural light. Porcelain tile from Pental covers the floor, and the white oak vanity was custom made by Jason.
