The beautifully crafted mobile structure is clad with yellow-heart lumber, and teak boards form its structural frame. The interior built-in furniture is constructed from plywood, and a metal trailer, secured with metal plates, allows the camper to be easily transported.

“The cool thing about the van is the casualness of it. It’s like, ‘Hey, we know somebody in Seattle. Let’s just go park in the driveway and hang out,’ ” says Rachel.

The renovation took nearly a full year, and the family now uses the boat for vacation getaways as far as the Bahamas.

It took around one week of print time to complete the wall system for each home—a process that would typically involve four steps or more using traditional building processes, including framing, drywall, and siding.

"My goal was to carry on the client’s family legacy by creating a very special place that took inspiration from the landscape,” explains architect Tom Kundig.

The oak cabinet in the living room was another secondhand find. “It had the exact measurements of the wall,” says Annemie. “We just needed to hang it.” The throw blanket is from La Femme Garniture while the pillows and pendants are custom.

French Paper Company’s business is much more than white letter stock. On the factory floor, Sean Penny operates the hydropulper, a machine that is used to make greeting cards, photo backdrops, envelopes, retail packaging, and more.

The house is oriented north-south, with the broad side of the structure facing east-west. This guarantees not only gorgeous views of the sunset, but also minimizes wind exposure.

The top was lifted off the truck, and extra storage for items like bikes was added to the exterior.

Beds are lofted above the kitchenette and large bench, and are accessible by wooden ladders.

“These rooms are for our friends and family who visit,” Peter explains. “But I think it’s also important to have a place to sleep where you work. You have to take a break and refresh your mind.
