The Trinidad and Tobago tourism poster that kickstarted the design has pride of place. A Rove Concepts table is surrounded by mustard West Elm chairs, and the brass chandelier is from the Florida-based lighting design company, Triple Seven Home.

The new cabinet fronts are from Reform CPH and painted a custom blue-green color. The counters are solid white quartz with a thin profile, paired with black hardware from CB2. The ceiling light is by Cedar & Moss, and Hong added a skylight. “The kitchen doesn't get the best light,” says Hong. “It has one window facing the street, but there's a plant right in front of it. So, we popped that skylight in there to bring in more natural light.”

Before: The layout in the kitchen was preserved, but the linoleum floors, tile counters, and old cabinets, as well as a soffit at the ceiling, were all removed.

Before: Built in 1961, Darrell and Tracy’s house was “your typical ranch-style home,” says Hong. “The architecture of the home is not necessarily mid-century, but all of the finishes were really mid-century.”

The piecemeal flooring that changed from room to room was swapped out for white oak, and the front door, side lite, and trim all updated.

By scouring shops, sales, and auctions, George Marrone amassed a giant trove of postwar furniture. He and his partner, Michael Nocera, applied that same work ethic to a 1959 home in Wilmington, Delaware, which they patched up over two years. The couple’s bulldogs stand guard at the flagstone entrance. The door, still with its Space Age knobs, is painted Flaming Torch by Behr. The brass wallhanging above the landing is by C. Jeré.

A swing hangs from one of the home’s original beams. “It was a gift from friends in New York,” says Onur. “The girls spend hours on it.”

Between the glass cabinets in the kitchen and the white-oak shelving in the corridor, there’s plenty of space for Isabella to display her curated collection throughout her home.

Cape Long lights by Cedar and Moss illuminate the kitchen, which features dark Dekton countertops and Thonet Bentwood counter stools.
