The Gym Space system will fit in bathrooms of all sizes: “You don't have to have a big bathroom,” says Pareschi.

In the garnet-colored powder room, a classic Victorian four-panel door has been reinterpreted with rounded grooves in place of panels.

The bathroom has a richly textured material palette, including a copper towel rack, natural stone basin, and white ceramic tiles. The painting reflected in the mirror depicts draumstafir, magical Nordic staves.

Open timber shelves in the bathrooms offer additional surface space. Brass fixtures add warmth and texture to the minimal palette.

Shiplap, a wood vanity, and wood-style vinyl flooring lend texture and warmth in the bath.

The bentwood mirrors and brass fixtures in the master bathroom fit in with the subtle midcentury design language throughout the home. A large window fills the space with natural light, which bounces off the white Carrara marble vanity top and herringbone tiles on the wall.

A marble-clad bathroom joins the bedroom and overlooks the skylit living area below.

The wall of the master bathroom is tiled with Ming Green Marble Fan Tiles from Tera Nova, paired with tumbled limestone floor tiles from Tera Nova. A Michael Anastassiades Flos pendant light from Living Edge brightens the space. The bespoke vanity was designed by Carter Williamson and built by House by Hart Joinery. "Again, we used timber half-dowels to tie the look in with the kitchen," says Peake.

Economical white subway tiles in a classic running bond pattern in the primary bathroom give subtle visual interest to the restrained palette. The deep window creates a sense of privacy and is sill-capped with white quartz.

The upstairs bathroom features a shower nook with a skylight. “You can look out and see palm trees,” Kuo says.

Despite facing the street, the master bathroom contains a delightful surprise: a private outdoor shower with a green wall.

The all-over green tiles of this bathroom feel the most like camp.

Colorful Ceramica Vogue tile steals the show on the home’s expanded upper level.

For a bathroom in the new addition, the architects utilized the former addition's rocky foundation, complemented by zellige tile.

The shape of the window is meant to represent Pam.

Tucked in a recessed space is the studio, opposite the kitchen. A bespoke desk provides just the right amount of work space. Shelves are cut in a circular shape to allow a pendant lamp to hang through them. A porthole window brings a dash of natural light into the space.

In the study on the home’s top level, a long window provides a panoramic view of Newlands Forest and Table Mountain. “The light in the morning is amazing, and the view of the mountain is incredible,” Derek says.
