A partial-height carrel conceals Kurtzman's work station in the primary bedroom, with additional storage situated behind the desk that was designed in collaboration with and built by Andrew Hussey. The weaving draped over the front is by Sidney Brower, Gideon's father. Paintings on display throughout the home are by his mother, Cynthia Brower.

This feature visually separates work and life within the confines of the condo's square footage, since the computer is not visible from the bed, and vice versa.

Kurtzman and Brower turned the transitional stair landing area into a now-loved library alcove and reading nook.

Space under the stairs is useful as storage (and an enticing spot for the couple's daughter and dog).

“The idea was to replicate the way trees grow to look for light,” says Camilo.

The primary bedroom, with its own sliding-glass entry onto the lower deck, includes a Stillwater Floral Quilt, Linen Duvet and Gingham Sheets by Schoolhouse. The Cover Bed is by Design Within Reach.

"The kids love playing and singing and I have this principle that if things aren't visible or easy to get, you won't use them. For them to play, their toys need to be visible, or if we want to cook, the food has to be visible."

The TV does not dominate the living room space. Instead, it is hidden behind a red glass screen and there is also a pull-down projector screen for family movie nights.

Every inch of the home is designed to accommodate the family's needs with ample hidden storage keeping spaces clutter free, complemented by open storage with those items more frequently reached for such as books to read and ingredients to cook with.
