An outdoor kitchen is the perfect spot for entertaining poolside. Here, black granite countertops are paired with stainles- steel cabinets; in place of a cooking range, there's a a Wolf grill.

Ariake Dovetail barstools are tucked up at the kitchen island, which is finished with a Silestone charcoal soapstone.

Custom cherry cabinetry with integrated handles and sliding doors brings a furniture-like component to the open kitchen. Three 1960s Scandinavian flush mounts by Arnold Wiigs Fabrikker brighten the soapstone counter, while two cognac leather stools by Afteroom for MENU are tucked beneath.

The in-law suite shares two walls with the main house to save construction and operation costs, but is equipped with a separate entrance, a private patio, and a full kitchen, living area, ensuite bedroom, and laundry.

The maple farmhouse table doubles as a kitchen island. The custom sink can be used as a perch for the cutting board, and a small tabletop garden provides herbs for cooking.

The kitchen bench seating was a popular perch for Ivy, Maple, and Violet, who liked to cook alongside their Mom.

On the main level, Alessia relocated the kitchen into what was a large bedroom, so as to give the kitchen more functionality and connect it to the living room. The cooktops can pivot up against the backsplash to create more prep space on the counter.

Virtue Joinery built the custom cabinetry, composed of plywood stained a soft grey.

The full-height glass doors open the home to its surroundings and provide a strong indoor-outdoor connection.
