The brick-and-glass residence accommodates limited mobility with a lift between levels and seamless thresholds between indoors and out.

Inside the residential units, expansive floor-to-ceiling openings are favored in the public spaces, filling the interior with light. A-Series Gliding Patio doors from Andersen maximize the surface area of glazing, and provide direct access to a private courtyard.

The home's contemporary kitchen features two styles of cabinetry (high gloss gray and whitewashed oak; both by Downsview) and two countertop materials (durable white corian and black granite). Mustard yellow counter stools by Calligaris add a jolt energy to the space.

The prominent Los Angeles modernist designed the post-and-beam residence—dubbed the Kubly House—for the original owners in Pasadena, California.

The house is hidden from the road and sits on a hilltop clearing that overlooks the rolling farmland of the Mississippi River bluffs in Western Wisconsin. From this vantage point, there is a 270-degree view, with dramatic sunsets over the distant hills.
