When an urban couple decided to build an affordable tiny house outside the city as a retreat from their busy lives, they found a site in the Stockholm archipelago and called on architect David Lookofsky of Lookofsky Architecture.
When an urban couple decided to build an affordable tiny house outside the city as a retreat from their busy lives, they found a site in the Stockholm archipelago and called on architect David Lookofsky of Lookofsky Architecture.
Lookofsky outfitted the bedroom with built-in pine plywood bunkbeds, walls, and a ceiling. The bathroom and a closet are also wrapped in plywood.

The house had distinct, angular geometry, and to build on that approach while not replicating it, Baab used curves in the renovation, including a spiral staircase and on select walls of the addition. The Lipnicks enjoy how the rooms in the addition offer privacy but retain a sense of being connected to the larger space. There’s even a secluded deck, with Auma chairs from Article.

Shown here is a horizontal Murphy bed, which makes a great space-saving solution as well as  a comfortable sleeping space.
