The light-filled staircase features a razor-thin metal railing, open maple treads, and a kids' reading nook tucked beneath it.

A ribbed wall made from maple features a hidden door that accesses the primary bedroom, which is located just off the entry.

The house's modest entrance leads one up the stairs to an unfolding panoramic view.

The couple designed the oak built-ins to tuck under the existing high windows, making sure the new wood tones meld with the existing wood on the floor and ceiling.
