The master bedroom is located at the rear of the skoolie to give the parents privacy. It was also important for the children to have their own space for sleeping, eating, and playing.

“I wanted to make this feel like home to the client, so a lot of the final touches were brought in to be specific for the client and their children,” says designer Matthew Welsh Weinberger. “The bunk curtains were sewn with fabric picked by the client and colors based on their children’s whimsical personalities.”

Designer Matthew Welsh Weinberger was introduced to the owners of the skoolie by a mutual friend after he saw some furniture and built-in work Welsh Weinberger had done in his own home. It was the first built project at this scale that he had taken on professionally.

In the kid’s bath, the dimensional tiles are designed by Kho Liang Ie for MOSA, the colorful tapware is by Vola, and the light fixtures are from Barn Lighting. “It’s all kind of mismatched and playful,” says Tang.

Custom cherry cabinetry with integrated handles and sliding doors brings a furniture-like component to the open kitchen. Three 1960s Scandinavian flush mounts by Arnold Wiigs Fabrikker brighten the soapstone counter, while two cognac leather stools by Afteroom for MENU are tucked beneath.

Joel Loblaw, a landscape designer, created "a series of outdoor rooms," including an alfresco kitchen that is sheltered beneath a cedar trellis. The Butterfly chairs are from Fresh Home and Garden in Toronto.

Woven from tactile acrylic rope and featuring piles of quick-dry cushions in on-trend muted hues, the all-weather sofa brings a refined tropical vibe to outdoor spaces.
