David and Darian had to do a big cull of their belongings to make Airstream life work, but smart storage solutions mean they've adapted to small-space living well.

While there are potlights here, David and Darian rarely turn on the overhead light. “I tried to put in as much ambient lighting as possible… having direct light can be so harsh in a small space,” he says.

If you’re curious about renovating your own Airstream, “set aside twice as much time as you think it’ll take,” David advises. He worked on it six days a week with the benefit of his own cabinet shop and CNC machine.
