The crown jewel of the down stairs bathroom is a custom basalt stone sink sourced from Etsy seller AegeanMarble. Alta Projects was inspired by the stone that’s seen throughout Yosemite National Park, most notably in El Capitan.

The main floor includes 20-foot vaulted ceilings and an open kitchen with custom cabinetry, Thermador appliances, and quartz countertops.

“The Jōki Sauna (jōki meaning ‘steam’ in Japanese) is an outdoor, modular sauna cabin,” Johnathon tells us. The siding the small prefab is treated with yakisugi: a Japanese method of charring wood. The interior wall panels and benches can be made from several types of wood, including Alder, Aspen, Hemlock, Cedar, and thermally treated varieties. Whether electric or wood-fired, the heaters are sourced from suppliers in Scandinavia, like Huum, Narvia, and Iki’s.
