The dining room sits directly off the living area, beside the kitchen, and has built-in storage on one side. Clasen leaned on paint as a way to refresh the home and add personality on a budget.

Clasen says that the proliferation of typography in her home reflects her style, and can often be found in her projects.

The entire kitchen was moved from its previous poky nook into the former dining area. Countertops totalled €6.6K, while fixtures (together with those in the bathroom) came to €11K.

After: Today it’s a place to drop your bag, do laundry and “prepare your skis” the couple says. Another custom-designed, made-to-look-vintage fixture is the standout element to the space. Funky repurposed lockers provide concealed storage.

After: Salvaged tile, from Historic Albany Architectural Parts Warehouse, was installed in a modern floor application, while newspaper from within the original walls gets installed as wallpaper. The chandelier is a salvaged item from the family’s contractor, found on another project. “It was going to be thrown away,” Geoffrey says.
