This formerly beige Brooklyn home now relishes in a range of blues, greens, and orangey-reds, with terrazzo and tile to spare.
The cabinetry on this side of the kitchen is painted Farrow & Ball's "Pea Flower Tea.
“I think you could tell it had been decorated by investors, so it hadn’t been done with much feeling. And I initially thought we’d just have to improve the vibe, but without any structural changes,” says Kristine.
The new wooden staircase is steeper and therefore shorter and, as a result, doesn't create such a large a barrier between kitchen and living room.
Owner Kristine likes to spend her weekend mornings in the kitchen, under the skylight.
"The solid oak floor is like its own piece of horizontal furniture, blending perfectly with the natural feel, as the soft oak planks flow together throughout the entire apartment,” says Vibeke Jenssen.
