After: The primary bedroom. Walnut sheaths a wall of closets that leads into the bathroom, where the walnut continues on the opposite wall and behind the vanity.

The smaller home is wrapped in all glass, allowing it to merge with its natural surroundings.

Each home sits on a spacious forested lot, with numerous beaches just a short drive away.

Across from the library, a former laundry room was turned into a bar with walnut millwork by Lutz Wood. The vintage lights are by A.V. Mazzega, and the custom-upholstered Tulip stools are from Knoll.

Now located on the lower level, the primary suite is fitted with hand-rubbed Cortina leather.

Concrete steps lead to the main entrance on the upper level, where a bright-yellow front door extends a cheerful welcome, all while complementing the home's sage-green facade.

One of Brooke’s favorite spots in the home were the corner windows in the eating nook. Now the light from those can spread to the rest of the plan. Honed limestone covers the counters. “You can see some of the shells and other things that have been pressed into the stone,” says Brooke. “They have a really beautiful patina.”

The green plaster, a color inspired by the palette of architect Luis Barragán, now covers the stone fireplace and hearth, extending the column up to the ceiling so there’s no longer a line chopping up the wall. “It made such an incredible difference that it goes all the way to the ceiling. It draws your eye up,” says Brooke. The new built-ins are white oak, and evoke the style of what was there before.

“There was no way out to the backyard from the main living space” before, says Boyer, who swapped out the windows for a large sliding glass door.

Boyer added a skylight over the stairwell to bring light into the middle of the home.

Boyer added the primary bathroom, with a surprise wrap of pink plaster on the walls and ceiling.

The basement is meant for entertaining, with a large family room and direct access to the pool.

A cedar fence, porch, and chimney and a Minerit panel driveway syncs with the materials inside the courtyard.

The new, attached ADU is rented out as a passive source of income that is helping Amanda finance the project.

The dark wood kitchen cabinetry contrasts with the light wood paneling and terra-cotta tiles.
