Entering the property by car, one first encounters the blank wall of the home's storage shed, evoking the Texas sheds and barns Redington loves.

A new bird's nest office in the loft atop the reoriented stair creates opportunities for views of the golf course in the distance. The desk and bench are custom built-ins, and the chair is from Blu Dot.

The kitchen underwent the most dramatic change, being relocated to the back of the house adjacent to the living room. White Oak floors and casework and new Kolbe windows warm up the space. The pendant light is from Design Within Reach, and the bar stools are custom from Sean Woolsey.

Feldman Architects opened up the living room with a smooth white plaster wall for the fireplace, and a new board-formed concrete hearth. The couch is from Design Within Reach, and the coffee table and side chair are custom.

The main bathroom walls and shower are clad in tile, and illuminated with a clerestory window.

Walls and closet doors are wrapped in the same flat-planked pine used throughout, and the bed covering is the Studio Ford 'Toledo Quilt.'

The couple spent $6,765 on Bisazza tile in the bathroom and alley-facing exterior.

The house includes two bedrooms, one of which doubles as an office thanks to a folding Murphy bed.

As a practicing architect for over 30 years, Scott looked to his network to help take on the project and, to an extent, mitigate the budget. “I’ve described this house as less of a construction project, and more of an Amish barn raising.”

The couple spent $27, 250 on the interior windows, including the floor-to-ceiling glass panels that frame the courtyard.
