The artist's studio was designed by Thaddeus Longstreth, a longtime associate of Neutra's, a little over a decade after the home's initial construction.

Finishes repeat to ensure a continuity of feeling throughout the home. In the primary bathroom, the floor is the same large format porcelain as the exterior spaces, the vanity counters are Concrete Collaborative terrazzo, and the shower wall tile is Mutina Rombini, which is also found on the kitchen island.

The expanded kitchen has a large central island, with room for prep, seating, storage, and cooking. The cabinetry is a mix of wood, Shinnoki Milk Oak, and white fronts, Fenix NTM Bianco Kos. The terrazzo counters are by Concrete Collaborative. There are two types of tiles: the Mutina Rombini fluted tile on the island and Cepac Krave Sugar Tiles on the backsplash. “It looks very mid-century modern,” says Blaine of the backsplash tile. “But in this application, it also adds that little touch of depth that I think is really important to making the house feel interesting.” The counter stools are from Hay.

Jeremy and Sara Imhoff laid out kYodai in the shape of a Y, which pulls Bear's Run's asymmetrical tetrahedron roofline inside out.

On the neighboring property, kYodai House brings to mind the horizontal lines that were hallmarks of Wright's designs.

A plaque in the garden honors the contributions of Virginia Lovness, who gifted the working drawings for the unbuilt Cottage C to one of Bear Run's owners, and architect David Uppgren, who built the house.

The glass doors of the dining area lead to a covered walkway that connects with the poolside patio. As in other parts of the house, the orientation of the ceiling boards alternates with each bay.

Matched paneling is used throughout the kitchen and dining room to form continuous planes of beautifully grained wood. The glass of the kitchen windows extends directly into the ceiling above and countertop below, eliminating visual obstructions between inside and outside.

The house is clad primarily with weathered steel.

The primary en suite encompasses the entire lower level and offers a spacious walk-in closet, home gym, and opens out onto a patio overlooking the nearby lake.

Original wooden beams stretch across the main living room, which connects to a large deck via sliding glass doors.
