“There’s no right answer except to play and experiment,” Adler says about furnishing the interior. He reupholstered vintage Warren Platner chairs with velvet from Kravet. Drawings by Eva Hesse inspired the custom ceramic wall tile. Adler also created the coffee table, rug, planters, and gold stool. The pendant lamp is from Rewire in Los Angeles and the artwork is by Jean-Pierre Clément.
Eight-foot-wide sliding glass doors connect the interior of the cabin to the natural landscape. The Modus team removed the wall that made the narrow nook, so that sunlight could filter through the windows into the living spaces. The entry was sized down, but still retains its function with a built-in bench. In the dining room, the Leah Dining Table from TOV is surrounded by Brielle Cane Dining Chairs from One Kings Lane. The artwork on the shelf is by Lilo on Paper.
After gutting a Vermont Frames kit house, resident and designer Andrew Kotchen left its post-and-beam framework exposed. On the main floor , a metal console from a flea market faces a Wisteria stump stool. The Wishbone chairs are by Hans Wegner.
