The new kitchen connects with the dining room to make hosting friends and family easier. Neal specified a durable quartz for the counters and backsplash, and used red oak for the cabinetry.

Risa Boyer Architecture guided the whole house remodel of this 1955 Portland home. Lillyvilla Gardens executed a new landscape plan for the property, including this updated entry sequence, while Boyer added more glass to suit the midcentury façade.

Hidden Gardens’ diagram shows a 7,500-square-foot lot with a 955-square-foot Unit A (2 bedroom, 2.5 bath and 1 flex space); 1,209-square-foot Unit B (3 bedroom, 2.5 bath and 1 flex space); 596-square-foot ADA Unit C (1 bedroom, 1 bath); and 620-square-foot Unit D (1 bedroom, 1 bath).

In the kitchen, mullioned glass cabinets showcase Isabella’s tableware and treasures, while a brass pot rail makes it easy to grab her cooking tools.
