Set along Hollywood Boulevard, the 1920s abode is walled and gated to ensure ample privacy.

Lisbon firm Aurora Arquitectos and local studio FURO collaborated on the renovation of an 18th-century structure in Vila Real de Santo António, a city in Portugal’s southern Algarve region.

The double-height living space is anchored by a wood-burning stove by Lopi in the corner. The large east-facing window on the far wall floods the room with magical morning light. All the windows and doors are by Quantum.

The living room features a Yucca Stuff coffee table as well as a sofa designed by Austin interior designer Ann Edgerton and built by Tyson Pendergrass.

The clawfoot tub was a salvaged find, while reclaimed wood was used for the shelving.

Natale and Caleb Ebel’s home in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles was built in 1922. It has 2 bedrooms/2 baths upstairs, and there’s 1 bedroom/1 bath on the lower level, which can work as a separate private suite for family from out-of-town, or a studio for the couple.

Artful stacks of Caleb’s collection of National Geographic and Monocle magazines. “They make for decoration, but I just like having them around after I read them as well,” says Caleb. Adds Natalie: “I love them because my family's Italian, and my grandma would always have bright yellow pieces that she would decorate with. That was my way to celebrate that part of her home and bring it to our home.” The Lincoln Center poster is vintage, and the couple lived nearby it when they were based in NYC.

Powder Room

The nearby vintage-style bathroom features a clawfoot tub, wainscoting, and a tiled floor.

Another view of the space reveals an original, full-height brick fireplace at one end.

"In our living room, we have a fairly large abstract piece from Sally King Benedict that was gifted from her years ago," says Amanda.

"If I can't see it properly it usually goes to waste, so it's important that I know what's where," Downing Pickens says of her kitchen supply. Organization is especially needed when kitchens are being used more often that usual.

A Matter Made Arch single-tier chandelier hangs from the tall ceiling in the living room. The 606 Universal Shelving System is from Visoe.

The art of bathing extends beyond the outdoor spa—a standalone soaking tub in the master bath looks out to the redwoods. The lighting fixtures are from Anthropologie, Serena & Lily, and Warmly.
