The fluted cherry front door, designed by Scarpa, launches a rippling motif that reappears in furniture and on walls. The Harry Bertoia Bird chair is from Knoll.
The front entry leads through a central corridor to the kitchen and living room. American cherry was selected for the cabinetry, with each piece of lumber purchased by the Brillharts at an auction and then stored in New Hampshire before being shipped to Miami and milled on site.
Custom cherry cabinetry with integrated handles and sliding doors brings a furniture-like component to the open kitchen. Three 1960s Scandinavian flush mounts by Arnold Wiigs Fabrikker brighten the soapstone counter, while two cognac leather stools by Afteroom for MENU are tucked beneath.
The home’s galley kitchen features cherry cabinetry and a concrete counter and backsplash—tying in with the concrete wall in the living room.
The loft’s entry includes wall-mounted and freestanding cherry storage units, conveniently positioned to tuck away outside items.
