The couple use their prefabricated structure as a fully indecent guest suite thanks to its private bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. It’s also a showroom of sorts for their new company Steel Hut, which sells plan sets for residential Quonset huts in partnership with Skylab Architecture.
Marie and Kurtis Saldivar designed a 1,200-square-foot guest suite using a modified takes on a traditional Quonset Hut in Sisters, Oregon.

The couple are also design lovers, particularly when it comes to vintage furniture. The study is furnished with a Saarinen Table by Knoll and Thonet Cantilever Chairs.
Each cabin is constructed around a patented autonomous sanitary-kitchen module, coupled with an energy storage system and a wastewater treatment system that together ensure the properties are able to operate off grid.
The project encompasses four rentable cabins that can each accommodate up to three guests.
Space saving solutions within the 235-square-foot cabins include custom furniture hacks like a fold-away dining table that conceals built-in shelving.
