By shifting the staircase the architects created a hidden library nook. Hidden amongst Klara’s collection of books it’s her favorite part of the apartment.
The kitchen counter’s new pink tiles bring an element of playfulness to the scheme. Square floor tiles were also used to define the kitchen from the dining-and-living area.

The cabin's two upstairs bedrooms are compact, including this bedroom for the couple's two young children.
Though the three-bedroom cabin is just 1,500 square feet, Josh Kjenner's design prioritized storage. These lacquered cabinets include custom pulls by builder Etchbuilt.
For the upstairs bedroom, pub-grade wood flooring was chosen, which helped reduce cost.
The living room sits beneath the mezzanine-like upstairs bedrooms, with a knotty fir ceiling providing a touch of rustic cabin vibes. The Chill Time sofa is by Sundays.
A centerpiece of the living room is the Stuv 16-Cube fireplace, sitting atop Ikea drawers outfitted with iKustom metal fronts. The tiles behind the stove are by Micro, and the wall sconce by Viscosi.
Josh Kjenner's design devoted a majority of the square footage to ground-floor public areas: a combined living-dining-kitchen area that's conducive to entertaining. The kitchen stools are by Bouclair.
The original log cabin, which serves as the living room, opens to the dining area and kitchen.
In collaboration with Timberwood Construction, the team stripped away the cabin’s additions (pictured above left before the renovation) to restore its one-room footprint.
A wood reveal around the window adds warmth to the facade.
In the extension, Knight combined differing brickwork textures, a steel overhang for shading, and timber detailing around the "splayed reveal
In the shower, there's Zellige Sky Gloss Ceramic Tiles by Mandarin Stone, and fittings from Tinkletorium.
