The kitchen cabinets hold dishes by Butterpie Productions. - Taos, New Mexico Dwell Magazine : July / August 2017

The floor is Nemo porcelain tile. The kitchen ceiling is slightly lower than the others in the apartment, so Rick and Vu Bui designed a stepped frame around it to disguise the difference.

The color-drenched New York kitchen of Nicholas Hussong and Masha Tsimring (and their cat, Watson) is an exercise in renovating for high impact with as little work as possible. They went for materials with texture, including Clé zellige tiles in Fired Opal on the backsplash and a sintered stone countertop, and their contractor painted Ikea cabinets with Benjamin Moore’s Racing Orange.

Accoya timber-framed doors and windows, reinforced by a charmingly warm-neutral palette, give the renovated house its 'Bungalow Blonde' name.

A cluttered material palette and assemblage of furniture accentuated the tight floor plan of the the bungalow's living spaces prior to renovation.

"We covered the entire stone fireplace in 80 pounds of grout and then painted it in a corresponding warm white color to match the new walls,

A splash of dark green paint in the sleeping nook introduces an old world drama to the space. The paint color is Billiard Green from Sherwin Williams. The crochet pendant is from World Market, and the brass bull was an eBay find. The couple's dog Waylon lounges in the pull-out dog bed drawer.

The couple embraced simplicity and efficiency in the new kitchenette. Cabinets along with the countertop, sink, and faucet are all from IKEA. A collection of artworks and collectibles on the shelving are from Aaron Murray, Penny Plavidal, Brian Green, Cynthia Mulcahy, Camp Bosworth, and Hailey Vick.

A connected dining area and kitchen allows for an open, airy feeling.
