The tiles used for the fireplace are Circlet from the Cuenca collection by Syzygy and are handmade in New Mexico. “It’s nice to find and use finishes that are not super trending, and this tile is my favorite in the house for that reason,” says architect Nicholas Fiore. “Also, they remind me of vinyl records and music, which is always great!”

Thomas’ favorite space—and what attracted him to the home in the first place—is the large studio that was used by Locher as an art studio and has been converted into a living room. “There’s a big, beautiful window and it is clearly one of the house's greatest features,” he explains.

While Thomas doesn’t have a favorite part of the home, the fireplace holds special meaning. “It means an incredible amount to me that my father, who is a bricklayer, built the beautiful open fireplace that looks like it was born with the house,” he says.

A Vipp V1 kitchen complements the period details found throughout the home. “It doesn’t steal the glory from the home’s decor,” says Thomas. “The same can be said for my choice of furniture, lamps, art and ceramics, which I tried to keep fairly subdued.”
