When their clients were unsure whether to renovate this historic ruin on the northern coast of Scotland or build an entirely new house, WT Architecture advised them that by partially occupying the ruin they could actually do both.

The goat peak bunk room's built in design provides two full size beds below and two twin xl beds on top. Each bed has its own light, USB outlet and oak bedtime shelf to rest a phone, tablet or book.

Architect Bentley Tibbs implemented space-saving techniques throughout the house, including this bunkbed niche, located upstairs at the stair landing.

Built for multigenerational use, the Peconic House also includes a four-person bunk room on the lower floor.

White paint makes the room feel bigger, and a bunk bed with a double-sized mattress on the bottom, utilizes the space more comfortably.
