The master bathroom is one of Geremia’s favorite rooms. “It’s focused on ritual and relaxation—a special place to start and end the day,” she says. “You can watch the neighboring horses graze from the outdoor shower.”

Windows offer wraparound views in the master bedroom. The nightstands and bed are from the Matera line by Sean Yoo for Design Within Reach; the Stem lamps are from Rejuvenation. The last owner painted the walls Gentleman’s Gray by Benjamin Moore.

The original structure was built by relatives in 1979.

"Sometimes all-white kitchens can feel stark," Owens says. "We wanted the space to feel inviting." Barstools from Wayfair along the island make it easy for the family to gather.

Motifs from the skylight and decorative elements of the arcade were incorporated into many of the public spaces of the hotel, like this niche with a seat and intricate geometric screen behind.

The bright and airy chef-caliber kitchen also offers custom cabinetry, high-end appliances, a marble-topped central island, and an abundance of seating.

A look at the formal living area with French doors out to the backyard patio. Hardwood lines multiple living areas throughout the house, while detailed crown moldings and custom architectural millwork decorate the crisp white walls.

A freestanding Antonio Lupi tub defines the updated master bath, which also features an open-plan layout and a skylight by Velux.

A 1953 modern home by Curtis and Davis in New Orleans’s Lakeshore neighborhood proved too tempting to pass up for veteran renovators Maury Strong, a film producer with an A-list client roster, and Ron Caron, a public school teacher. But the couple soon discovered that the flood-damaged structure with multiple sloppy renovations was a bigger challenge than they had imagined. With the help of a team led by Wayne Troyer and Natan Diacon-Furtado of studioWTA and the original architectural plans, they created a modern oasis to last a lifetime.

Because the property slopes to the rear, the home’s eastern view is of treetops right outside. In the dining nook, Executive Armchairs by Eero Saarinen join a Warren Platner table beneath a Serge Mouille ceiling light. A patterned rug by AVO rests on the terrazzo tile floor.

A hammered copper farmhouse sink from Sinkology and copper hardware from Decorator Hardware contrast warmth against the blue and green tones of the cabinetry. The existing wood flooring was kept, just sanded and stained to match other areas of the house.

The top floor holds the Chiavellis’ bedroom suite, with a dressing room and built-in spa. “The farmers dried their crops up here,” says Chiavelli. “We knew right away this was the spot that we wanted to have our own room.”

Locally sourced Italian slate covers the ground floor rooms; the coat rack near the entrance is from Zanotta.

The master bath includes an envy-worthy cedar soaking tub from Roberts Hot Tubs.

A lap pool fills the expanse between the music studio and the house.
