Aleksandra shifted and shortened the window to pack in usable storage around it. The cabinets are painted Rainy Afternoon by Benjamin Moore, combined with white oak boxes for contrast. “We were also badly hit by the material price increases during Covid,” says Aleksandra, whether it was kitchen cabinets or framing lumber. The couple were receiving quotes that changed week to week.

Aleksandra opened up the wall and reinstated the dining room where there's a second bay window. Two Spotlight pendants from ANDlight in Vancouver hang above the Ethnicraft Bok table and benches.

A built-in desk sits right off the living area, beside plenty of closed storage. Baker's team thought that placing the pendant off center complemented the home's asymmetry.

aesarstone counters in the kitchen, which best highlights the homes mix of light and wood. White conversion varnish was used on the sink side of the island for durability, with wood on the side of entertainment.

In the updated powder room, Hemlock walls compliment white Oak cabinetry and a faucet from Watermark.

The minty green powder bath is a favorite room of the client's. The clear polycarbonate ceiling adds an element of surprise, while imbuing the pocket-sized space with an indoor-outdoor feel that is connected to the polycarbonate to the sunroom in the ADU.

Instead of the separated space for living, dining, and cooking, the renovation has instead connected spaces that open up to the outdoors.

The three-bedroom home features a built-in bunk room. Large inset windows throughout allow an indoor-outdoor feel despite the single-story home's modest footprint, just over 1,000 square feet.

The couple added the wainscot, installed by Seamus, and painted in Farrow & Ball Red Earth to continue the “color story” from the breakfast room. The white oak built-in has much needed storage behind the cane cabinet fronts and display. The Caitlin couch by Everygirl for Interior Define sits atop a vintage checkered rug with an Anthropologie coffee table and Hay Paper Shade overhead.

A 12-foot-tall wood-clad multi-slide door in the open plan living-dining room offers an ocean view.

The designers recreated the carport as a dining area, arranging the space with a living wall, a painted brick wall, a tk ceiling with recessed lighting, a teak table and bench, and director chairs.
