Before: The stairwell was circuitous and ate up a lot of floor space. It was also dark and made it difficult for daylight to reach the home's core.

Relocating the ground floor landing helped concentrate the stairwell to a smaller footprint, and opened up more space in the downstairs rooms.

Inserting a lightwell above the central stair helped inject a feeling of brightness to the home's core. Now, daylight filters through both levels of the home.

The cabin’s exterior, originally pastel yellow, was modernized with fresh paint from Benjamin Moore in Blackforest Green – a rich and earthy hue perfect for the wooded context.
