Both the outer wood shell and the inner glass walls slide back and forth on tracks, allowing a variety of configurations. When the weather is warmer, the shells can glide open to provide more light and ventilation. In cooler temperatures, the cabin walls can be closed to provide shelter and warmth.

The majority of the house is clad in earth-tone modular brick. The brick was chosen for its durability, low maintenance, and the texture and pattern it lends to the elevations.

The house is oriented north-south, with the broad side of the structure facing east-west. This guarantees not only gorgeous views of the sunset, but also minimizes wind exposure.

In the kitchen, copper-colored stainless steel tiles from TileBar create a glowing backsplash that is offset by the neutral white cabinets. The cabinetry is by IKEA, the countertop is Caesarstone, and the induction cooktop is by Bosch.

For the floor and built-ins, the architects opted for Douglas fir. The recessed wood-burning stove is a Morsø 5660.
