Walls and closet doors are wrapped in the same flat-planked pine used throughout, and the bed covering is the Studio Ford 'Toledo Quilt.'

The white oak bench seating wraps a vintage wood table found on Offer Up. The custom cushions are by Legacy Custom Upholstery in Perennials 'Raffia' fabric in Geranium Red. The wall light is the Schoolhouse 'Gantry Pivot Sconce.'

Except for new paint, this side of the kitchen changed very little. The built-in booth had a handmade Redwood tabletop that exemplified the overall aesthetic that the couple wanted to maintain. Now, this area is mostly a crafts station for the kids, with art supplies kept in the below drawers.

Stephanie detailed a built-in bench, which is now a favorite spot to sit with the cook, in order to fill in the wasted space below the window, using yellow velvet for the custom upholstery ($2000).

The home’s kitchen features a bold, earthy mix of colors and textures—the quartzite counters, Venetian plaster kitchen hood, Zellige tile backsplash, and natural wood millwork come together to create a warm and inviting space. “The juxtaposition of the old, Moroccan Zellige tile against the new Marvin windows is a really nice design moment,” says Carly.

An expansive, 12-foot Marvin Ultimate sliding door connects the dining room to the screened porch.

The size of the house and the layout encourage spending time together, another welcome change from the couple’s life in Paris. “In our former house, we were all in our private spaces,” says Patrice. “Here we spend time in the central areas. It’s basically one floor, and you can call out to each other easily.”
