Writer Lina Abascal sits on built-in seating in the living room of Frank Lloyd Wright’s longtime home, studio, and architecture school in Spring Green, Wisconsin.

Taliesin apprentices gave Wright the Hillside Theater’s hand-sewn curtain with multicolor pieces of felt and yarn as a birthday gift in 1957.

Most of the bedrooms at Taliesin are furnished with single beds and strategically clustered seating options. Wright and his third wife, Olgivanna, had separate sleeping spaces with their own twin beds. They also shared a third room with a larger bed and a pink accent wall.

The Taliesin decor not designed by Wright himself pulls heavily from the architect’s collection of Asian art.
