There's only one thing Clint would do differently if he had the chance: "When everything was blown apart, I should have poured a foundation for an ADU or some sort of detached dwelling. But we were on such a tight schedule, and we were so focused on the house."

Clint also built a playhouse for his children.

A classic bike shines in the north

The print under the stairs is from artist Jessica Poundstone’s Color Cloud series. “The piece under the stairs is one of my favorites,” says Myers of the series. “I have one in my house.”

The peaceful spot holds many happy memories for the client and his family, and Casa ZGZ now gives them the opportunity to make many more new ones.

"The whole volume has a double-pitched roof without a drainage channel, which is very helpful during the typhoon season, and also gives the volume a more solid appearance," notes Zeberio.

This summer, Clint added a stock tank pool near the back of the yard.

The kitchen cabinets, designed by Taku and built by Osamu Hironaga, hold dishes from Taku’s Hasami porcelain line, which is produced in Nagasaki.
