“Having ample space for day-to-day activities was important, but so was having space that flows,” Knight says.

“We always want to feel the carpentry in our projects. Our goal here was to show the wood of the structure as much as possible,” says architect Jean-Baptiste Barache.
The raw edges of the antique teak wood shelves bring an organic touch to the the living area.

“A lot of renovations today have so much white and gray, and we wanted to run away from that,” says São Paulo native Joyce Prestes. “We really wanted color.”
