In the couple’s bedroom, a back corner window that had been straightened by the previous owner was restored to its original slant, and an interior clerestory was uncovered and used to brighten a bathroom on the other side of the wall. The vintage teak bed with built-in headboard and side tables is from Vintage on Point in Los Angeles. A signed Andy Warhol screen print hangs overhead.
Finishes repeat to ensure a continuity of feeling throughout the home. In the primary bathroom, the floor is the same large format porcelain as the exterior spaces, the vanity counters are Concrete Collaborative terrazzo, and the shower wall tile is Mutina Rombini, which is also found on the kitchen island.
Riehen, Switzerland, has a naturally filtered pool with a contemporary design courtesy of acclaimed Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. Inspired by the traditional wooden pools found within the Rhine River, Naturbad Riehen replicates the experience of bathing in a lake by using aquatic plants and other biological filters to keep the water clean.
