The millwork hides the bed and desk, but it also conceals the air conditioner. “Everything is integrated,” says Losada-Amor. “That’s what keeps it clean.” Even the garage door mechanism is hidden here.

The couple’s cat, Dmitri, has a custom-carved portal to his litter box in the bathroom. “The cabin is very clean,” Emily says, “aside from the Dmitri fluff everywhere.”

Woud’s modular sofa provides a vibrant accent color used elsewhere in the house and ADU. The striped club chair is from Ferm Living; the Eames chair and ottoman were among the only things the couple brought with them from Colorado. The knot cushions are by Design House Stockholm, and the prints are by Cornelia Thomsen.

The kitchen now features a seating area featuring a Moooi Container table, Hay chairs and a banquette upholstered in a crimson fabric by Kvadrat. The pendant is by &Tradition.

Set in Dumbo’s Brick and Timber building, the two-floor residence has huge archways, a custom kitchen, and a roof deck.

The new dining table was covered in hand painted fruit. Both the table and chair legs recall the 1950s, paying homage to Gio Ponti.

The first piece I saw was a new bar cabinet, silk screened rather than painted for a more 2D look. Cats, birds, bottles, and urns decorated the face as well as the inside of the doors.
