Master bath

The subway tile-lined bathroom was kept as simple as possible, with Hansgrohe fixtures and cabinets made of vertical-grain Douglas fir above a top-mounted Duravit sink. Since installing a window was unfeasible given the bathroom's proximity to other properties, Storey added a skylight over the shower.

In modern bathroom vanities, timber can be used a number of different ways. It’s at its most basic in this simplistic modern bathroom, tied together neatly with matching shelving in the cut-out above.

New wood siding was stained a semi-transparent arbor coat of Benjamin Moore Alexandria Beige. All the metal trim was painted to match the window and door system for an integrated feel.

In the primary suite, a new sliding glass door allows for cross-ventilation. A Noguchi pendant hangs above a bed from Design Within Reach and a custom couch. The rug is from Armadillo.

A new bird's nest office in the loft atop the reoriented stair creates opportunities for views of the golf course in the distance. The desk and bench are custom built-ins, and the chair is from Blu Dot.

The hanging deck chair comes from a local garden shop.

Every room in the back of the house has an amazing view of the Amsterdam Forest. To take full advantage, HOP installed a large casement window in the two back-facing rooms upstairs. Robi and Christine kept the room's interior design to a minimum to accentuate the scenery.
