The home's centerpiece is its ridge-beam skylight, which extends over the living room and expanded kitchen.

“Watching the sunrise and moonrise from the living room is gobsmacking,” says James.

“We want to make houses that both respect the neighborhood and enhance it,” says firm principal Michael Lehrer. “Our main question was, how do you fit it in?”

The couple painted the camper’s wood paneling a crisp white, and installed vinyl wood floors.
