Architect Leandro Garcia redesigned this 376-square-foot apartment in Curitiba, Brazil, for Eveline Favero and her 13-year-old son, Domingos.

This tiny not-home home is a floating sauna built by lighting designer Brendan Ravenhill. Most of the year, Brendan is in Los Angeles, but when he returns to his family’s homestead on Little Cranberry Island, a short boat ride southeast of Acadia National Park, he tends to personal projects like this little floating sauna -

The new kitchen has custom walnut cabinetry throughout. “Walnut just creates that warmth and works well with a lot of mid-century materials,” says Lin. “It’s just a good base layer.”

Ecocor High Performance Buildings is a construction firm that designs, manufactures, delivers, and assembles high-performance, energy-efficient buildings. With construction details that are certified through the Passive House Institute, they construct panelized homes (not modular homes, but prefabricated panels). The panelized wall sections are then transported to the building site, where they are erected in a fraction of the time conventional construction requires.
