Sitting on a plateau over the rolling landscape of rural Quebec, the residence comprises three joined, gable roof structures, each oriented differently. It takes inspiration from the local farmhouses and barns of the area, whose steep rooflines help shed snow in the winter, and whose wood-clad facades traditionally used lumber from local trees.

The corner library takes color inspiration from the facade.

The sauna structure includes a small deck.

A wood-burning stove from Harvia, of Finland, heats the sauna. The pavilion’s rough-cut pine walls are treated with tar, a preservative that yields a time-worn aesthetic.

A unique door that swivels from the top was designed to prevent heat escape.

Nestled in the woods of Cairngorms National Park, the Inshriach Bothy inspired the creation of the Artist Bothy series: customizable prefab cabins that can be purchased starting at $36k.

At one corner of the cabinet wall, a short flight of steps, shaped like a boat ladder, leads to another closet-like door that opens to a small portico.

Upstairs, a wooden slatted wall doubles as a bookshelf.

The bedroom area is tucked behind a vintage dresser with a new hot pink back, which makes an eye-catching space divider. A custom plywood panel wall provides discreet storage and hides the laundry machines.

The custom-built staircase from the living room to the loft box is integrated with a wood stove and storage for firewood.

Nive buys loads of fresh produce and wanted a place to store it that was accessible and uncluttered, so the team provided these open shelves.

The black studio wall in House A326 stands out against the rest of the home's palette of white and concrete. Almost all of the furnishings were custom-designed by Studio DiDea and realized by local artisans.
