The wall tiles are the Olaria Collection by Lepri, paired with floor tiles in Dansk Cement by Portobello. The designers kept fixtures in place to save costs in the budget.

The custom partition with cane panels was fabricated by MadeMarchi, and can be moved along the tracks as needed.

MadeMarchi created abundant cabinetry out of marine plywood with a clear finish to surround a new, full-sized refrigerator. White quartz counters and green tiles from Strufaldi complete the palette.

Arkitito Arquitetura opened up the wall between the kitchen and living room.

The office has a vintage Alvar Aalto chair and a desk made from Hay’s Pier shelving.

The straightfoward kitchen has a custom stainless-steel countertop and storage unit.

Principle structural beams were left exposed and offset by white-painted drywall. Schnabel sourced a variety of antiques to mix in with modern furnishings, to maintain the desired balance.

Custom oak cabinetry in the kitchenette was given a modern treatment to balance the more rustic elements in the setting, like the ceiling and antique table-turned-kitchen island. The faucet is by Kingston Brass.

Reclaimed wood covers the ceiling in the main room and bedroom. The large white light fixture was reused from the barn’s previous incarnation, and the sectional is from Interior Define.

All walls, ceiling and floor are lined in plywood. The desk and shelving are mostly build from offcuts from the floor.

Venetian curtains were a Facebook Marketplace purchase for $13 USD each.

Besides the framing, the other new materials Troup used were plywood for the interiors and fresh zinc-aluminum sheeting for the roof: cheap and cheerful.

The LED lighting is encased in translucent poly-carbonate panels on top and bottom. Daylight streams through from the roof when the lights aren't on.
