In the living room, a Louis Poulsen Artichoke pendant hangs above a Max Blank wood stove, a B&B Italia rocking chair, and a Noguchi Prismatic side table.

The Ten Table Round by Christian Troels and Jacob Pledjdrup for DK3 is from the Danish Design Store, surrounded by Bacco chairs in Nero leather and black ash. The light is the Model 2065 from astep, and the painting is by Jane Chapman.

The DJ station and record collection is a perfect fit in the living room.

A floating Ipe bench now sits outside the front door, juxtaposed against siding painted Benjamin Moore “Wrought Iron.” The glass panels beside the door now have reeded glass.

The bedroom in the guesthouse is large and bright, with row windows and vaulted ceilings to maintain it's breeziness.

The teal cabinetry featured in the main home is present in the bedroom as well, adding a splash of color to the guest house.

In the dining area, a 96-inch Run table from Emeco is lined with 611 chairs from Artek. Cielo pendants by Pablo Designs hang overhead while a piano from Steinway & Sons sits in the background.

In the double-height living area, a pair of vintage Sirocco chairs by Arne Norell face an oval coffee table from Elte.

Clean white walls meet white-framed windows throughout the home, creating visual cohesion and a bright, airy effect.

Kitchen and island

Hatchet Design Build took a contemporary approach with this kitchen while still drawing from the a traditional palette. The grain-matched walnut cabinets echo the walnut pocket doors elsewhere.

This Denver kitchen sets a marble backsplash, that continues up the wall as the backsplash for a display shelf, against walnut cabinetry and countertops of an alternate gray material.

A new kitchen now occupies the parlor floor, thanks to the two-story addition.

The home’s two levels used to be connected only by an external staircase. The architects reorganized the floor plan to insert a new indoor stair, which is bordered by a screen of steel cables grounded in stones the couple collected on their beach. The columnar lantern is by Stefan Gulassa, a local artist who made many of the home’s light fixtures.

The second floor of the back house includes a guest suite and an office. The walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace.

The primary bath features a double vanity, as well as an oversized glass shower and soaking tub.
