The Adaptable Living prefab sits perched on a bluff in Tasmania’s Tarkine Forest.

The existing cottage has been on the site for “a long time” with various extensions and refurbishments taking place ad hoc between the 1930s and 1990s, including the garage and utility room at the rear that has been replaced by the newest extension. Like many typical cottages in the area, the cottage is built from local stone with timber shutter windows.

The communal lodge features six nearly identical bedrooms alongside an interior made of exposed concrete, flooring, steel, and brass.

Because of its remote location, the newly-built six-bedroom lodge uses propane to cook and heat the building and its tankless water heater.

Perched in Sicily's Monte Cofano Nature Reserve, this one-bedroom home—which was once an agricultural storehouse—offers views of an unspoiled natural landscape, from the mountains to the sea. Original details, such as exposed beams and stone walls line the interiors, while a large, partially shaded patio extends the charm outside.
