The Adrian Pearsall sofa was sourced from The Swanky Abode on 1st Dibs, and the fire tools are also from the Sunshine Shop, a local vintage store.

Built-in sofas provide lots of flexibility for entertaining, lounging, and even spare sleeping arrangements—plus they provide plenty of storage, thanks to pull-out drawers. A floor-to-ceiling bookshelf was key for corralling clutter, providing some of the only horizontal space in the home. The bookshelf wall is extra thick to accommodate two small cupboards behind the sofa cushions that open into the adjoining bathroom.

The materials and furnishings accommodate and complement the home’s curved geometry. Ploum sofas by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec lie in the living room and sitting rooms.

In the living room, cork flooring meets a fir staircase. The lofted family room features a chair from the Danish Design Store and a Grasshopper floor lamp by Greta Grossman for Gubi.

Ample storage is built into every corner of the home, from the stair treads to the kitchen bench. Since the client moved into the home, a ceiling fan and portable heater have been sufficient on both the warmest and coldest days. The smart energy monitoring system, Smappee, shows a consistent ambient temperature within the house of 20°C.

The homeowners can now perch on a wraparound bench and look out to the backyard. The pendant lights in the corner are from Pop and Scott.

Chen designed circular copper bases for the Bluestone to create a coffee table with gravitas. The light is the Artemide Aggregato ceiling light with a counterweight.

Floor-to-ceiling shelves and storage bookend a cabinet that conceals the television.

Resident Manon van der Zwaal’s home exemplifies the open design and natural materials common to all 30 structures.

Surrounded by Eveneer white oak paneling, the light-filled living room is furnished with a Poltrona Frau John-John sofa from Cult, Knoll Tulip coffee tables, a Sisal rug from Armadillo & Co, and a pair of 60-year anniversary-edition PK22 lounge chairs from Cult.

Against the modernist backdrop of concrete, glass, and wood, antiques and family heirlooms create an inviting, homey atmosphere. "It’s an eclectic collection, but it all works together. Everything’s so authentic. It’s all Lexi," says principal David Arnott.

“Our favorite parts of the project are all the small nooks where you can find your own personal space,” note the architects. “These spaces are also connected to the main space, so everyone can be ‘alone and together’ at the same time.”
