A look at the couple's adjoining bathroom.

A 1000xBetter removed the wrought iron and striped awning, and covered the façade in wood, leaving the distinct midcentury elements intact.

In the primary bathroom, a custom vanity is outfitted with American Standard faucets. The light is from Cedar & Moss, and the floor tiles are Concret from La Nova.

Dimensional tile lines the walls and the glass enclosure wraps the shower bench. A new skylight brings in natural light to the room, as it doesn’t have an exterior wall.

In the bathroom, the vanity is wrapped with the slatted white oak detail and topped with quartzite. Engineered terrazzo tile covers the floor.

“We sandblasted, I don't know how many layers of paint off the ceiling, but we sandblasted it, and it turned out beautifully,” says Maziarski. “And then we just sealed in its natural color.”

The three independent rooms upstairs were converted to a main suite with a walk-through closet at the center.

Custom cabinetry in the closet has grasscloth fronts. “That’s going back to the traditional midcentury vibe,” says Maziarski.

The new doors to the backyard are nineteen feet wide. The Neolith Beton counters in the kitchen are a surface material made to look like concrete.

INAX tile is paired with walnut cabinets by Bellwether Millworks in the master bathroom, which also features Ladena sinks and Purist faucets from Kohler. The tab pulls are from Häfele, the Syncro floor tiles from Century, and the Niveous pendant from WAC Lighting.

The home takes the form of two volumes that slide past each other. The front door leads directly to the center of the home, which connects to the both the entrance courtyard and the rear pool area, dissolving the boundaries between interior and exterior space.

Large-format wall tiles create organic texture in a neutral color, consistent with the the rest of the house.

The wall of backsplash tile behind the sinks emphasizes the ceiling height.

The primary suite also includes dual dressing rooms, both of which are decked out with custom cabinetry and feature wooden vaulted ceilings, along with a central storage island.

The bathroom features an indoor/outdoor shower. The Wetstyle sink is outfitted with a Blu Bathworks faucet.
