The couple crafted the living-room shelves out of Formica. They act as a display case for mementos and collectibles: Jordan’s vintage cameras, a carved antelope horn from the Majete Wildlife Reserve in Southern Malawi's Chickwawa district, a wooden sculpture from an installation designed by Shalini. A small wooden stool carved by artisans in Uganda’s Kitanyata region near Murchison Falls doubles as a plant stand.
Snow blankets the mountains at the Purgatory Resort in Durango, Colorado. "Colorado is consistently the number-one ski state in the country," says Chris Linsmayer of Colorado Ski Country. "We pride ourselves in hospitality and guest service. That certainly is not going to change even though the experience is going to be different—folks are going to have masks on, there's going to be social distancing. The reason that people come year after year is not going to be different."
After gutting a Vermont Frames kit house, resident and designer Andrew Kotchen left its post-and-beam framework exposed. On the main floor , a metal console from a flea market faces a Wisteria stump stool. The Wishbone chairs are by Hans Wegner.
