The L-shaped Pyrenees residence features a substantial outdoor deck made with native spotted-gum wood, which, per local code requirements, is resistant to bush fires.
Designed by Arba, the retreat’s enclosed garden provides outdoor space out of the wind while the cuts give it a strong connection with the setting.
The home is nestled in a stand of cedar, pine, and Douglas fir trees. The family relocated a smaller cabin to make room for their new retreat, and they plan to convert the original structure into a game room for the kids.
