This kitchen renovation done by design firm Case Design gave this 1980’s 1980s-style kitchen a much-needed change. The addition of Encaustic cement floor tiles in black, white, and, grey helped to make this renovation come to life.

The centrally located stair from the ground floor to the roof deck is partially screened by leftover cedar planks from the exterior. A skylight above brings in plentiful natural light.

The dining area features an oak table with metal legs, created by the local company Double Butter. The chairs are by Arhaus, and the light fixture is by Hammerton Studio. The living room is fitted with vintage chairs.

By incorporating wood slats into the stair wall, light from above is able to pass farther into the space between levels.

Ricks raised the ceiling over the breakfast nook to allow a larger window and space to hang an Allied Maker pendant over the table by Sawkille Co. with built-in leather upholstered bench.

The living room features several seating options, including a large sectional sofa, armchair by Jaime Hayon, and loveseat by Hans Wegner. The custom media cabinet is by Hudson Valley-based furniture designer Michael Robbins and the floor lamp is by Lostine. A potted tree underscores the easy indoor-outdoor access.

Benjamin Moore's Barberry paint accents a wall in the living room, which it lit by a chandelier by Andrew Neyer. The ottoman is by Muuto.

“This wasn’t a reconstruction, but a major renovation,” says Dora. “The bones were there.”

New sliders by Fleetwood open wide to the pool deck, which was redone to match what had been there originally.
