Gazebo, built in 1986 by architect Riken Yamamoto, is an updated take on Japan’s mixed-use <i>zakkyo biru</i> buildings. It originally held a pharmacy and cafe at street level, a floor of offices above, then a floor of rental apartments followed by the architect’s penthouse apartment on top.
